In this series I used quotations from all of my favorite poets, to enhance the meaning to each of my photos. I re-edited many of these photos, and use picmonkey to put the text on the photos. I really enjoyed this series because I was able to combine my two favorite aspects of this year which have been creating personal series, and adding text.

90's Childhood Series 4!

In this series revision I attempted to use the softening effect, film stock, as well as continuing the polaroid and time machine filters on pic monkey. In this revision I tried to capture objects that are very relevant to my childhood individually, but may also illuminate a nostalgic feeling for the viewers. For example, Chip and dale was one of my favorite cartoons, and underneath is a book on slam poetry, one of my passions. I also include parts of San Francisco that remind me of my childhood, with small details that also say a lot about my upbringing. I especially enjoyed how the glass door was shattered, but King Falafel still opened their doors to their loyal customers. I think small things like this, show a lot about San Francisco, and the influences i've had growing up here.

In this series I focused on capturing images of my childhood, and attempting to reflect the mood of the 90's with my editing process. I used the Polaroid, and time machine filters from pic monkey, but I hope that the content also contributed to the mood of the pictures. I plan on using this same theme for my final series, and I plan on writing small pieces for each picture. I have already started writing these, but I feel they do not yet fit the tone I am aspiring for.

In this series I attempted to continue my retro theme while focussing on less editing. I tried to use the content of the photo to capture the mood I was portraying, and through this process I have developed an even better and well thought out theme: 90's childhood. I have tried to capture objects that I feel represent my experience growing up in the 90's. I ended up using contrasting, exposure, and highlights to edit, but I have found other ways to create an older feel to the pictures through the content and mood.  In the next series I hope to combine the editing techniques and content choices from both series in order to best fit my new 90's childhood theme.

In this series I tried to capture a consistent retro theme that is accomplished by simple subjects and pic monkey editing tools. This is just the first draft of this Retro series, and I hope to better characterize and capture the same mood of photography in the past.

Idea #1: 80's Retro

In this series I used negative space in order to create a mood or meaning to the photo. In these photos, the background is able to give the main object more definition and contrast. The negative space is a really great tool in order to keep a minimal style, while still creating a tone with the photo.
